To reach Cadence Options, navigate to Cadence Management > Cadences > Create Cadence > Cadence Options
Here you can set the Business Hours, assign a Cadence, and set the Cadence Type for your Cadence so you can publish your Cadence appropriately.
Business Hours
An organization’s Salesforce-defined business hours set the timing for Wait Steps and touchpoint due dates. Business Hours must be selected before publishing a Cadence. If they change, update the Cadence to apply new hours to future touchpoints.
Holiday Records linked to the assigned Business Hours are also honored.
Wait Step intervals pause during non-business hours. For example, a touchpoint created on Saturday with Monday-Friday 8 AM–5 PM ET business hours will have its due date moved to Monday at 8 AM ET.
Note: When utilizing Wait Steps with Business Hours (as opposed to 24/7 availability), it is essential to use "hours" rather than "days" to ensure accurate time calculation. For instance, if your business day spans 9 hours (from 8 AM to 5 PM), configuring a Wait Step for 9 hours will result in a pause equivalent to one full business day between touchpoints.
Public Group Assignments
Configure Cadence access using Public Groups. The Organization-Wide Defaults should be Public Read/Write for Default Internal Access and Default External Access should be Private for the Cadence Object.
Update Organization-Wide Defaults (OWD)
- Go to Salesforce Setup.
- In the Quick Find box, search for "Sharing Settings".
-
- Locate the object "Cadences".
-
- Click "Edit" next to the object's OWD settings.
-
- Change the "Default Internal Access" to Private.
-
- Click Save.
Note: If the user can still see the Cadence we may need to make changes in permissions like read/write and it can be managed natively with Salesforce sharing rules as mentioned below.
Cadence Type
Set a Cadence to be a Standard Cadence or a Team Cadence.
