Overview
Conquer makes sure that all numbers we provide have a solid reputation when they are set up. However, if a number that was previously working is now marked as spam, there are some steps your organization, as the owners of the number, can take to resolve the issue.
Why is my outbound call showing up as spam?
Recently, many telephony providers, particularly mobile ones, have been taking a more proactive approach in identifying outbound calls as spam. This can happen in a few different ways. For instance, you might have seen on your own devices that it's quite simple for people to report calls from unknown numbers as spam to their providers. When enough reports come in from users, a number can end up being marked as a spam number or labeled as a spam risk. Additionally, carriers might also use algorithms to flag numbers as spam without any user involvement.
What can I do?
- If you haven't done so already, please contact Conquer Support to ask for your CNAM to be set up. This service shows the caller's name along with the phone number on the recipient's caller ID, which can really help reduce any confusion.
- To stay ahead of any potential flagging issues, consider registering your numbers with providers. This lets them know that your numbers are associated with a legitimate business. You can check out this blog post on Why it's important to register your numbers with carriers.
- If you have numbers that are getting blocked, you might want to update them by signing up with Free Caller Registry. This free service sends information to major carriers, which can help update their databases and potentially remove flags from your business numbers.
Additionally, major telecom providers have established straightforward ways to dispute flags and blocks.
- Reach out to AT&T through Hiya.
- Contact Sprint via First Orion.
- Send feedback online to Verizon or through TNSI.
- Report a problem to T-Mobile.
